捨てる能力
何度か書いたことがありますが、うちの嫁さんはモノを捨てるのが大好きです。と単純に書くと怒られますが、「いかに少ないモノでシンプルに気持ちのよい生活ができるか」という点を追求しているようです。なので、うちは他の家に比べ、とてもモノが少ない。何かを買えば、同時に同等の何かを捨てます。それが高い値で買ったものなのか、安物なのかは一切関係なく、さっぱりと捨てられます。例えば、1枚のTシャツを買えば、古いTシャツが1枚捨てられる。いや、2枚も3枚も捨てられることもありますが。靴だって、バッグだって。常に捨てるものを探しているんです。捨てるためなら、お金だってかけます。
時々私はこれら行為に抵抗します。それは捨てないでくださいよと。でも最近はもうだいぶ慣れてきました。モノが少ないのは気持ちがよい、という考えも、少し理解できるようになりました。久々に実家に泊まったりすると、尋常じゃないモノの多さに、息苦しくなります。ずっと住んでいた家なのに、全く落ち着かない。あぁ、私も、いつの間に。
この性質は、嫁さんが母から受け継いだもののようで、その実家には、うちにもましてモノがありません。そして、なんとすでに、私の娘もモノを捨てることに快感を覚えている様子。
とにかく、郵便物のたぐいのものは、すぐゴミ箱に捨てられます。運転免許の更新のお知らせはがきも捨てられました（回収しましたが）。折り紙を半分にちぎった時点でそれも捨てられます。そして捨てながら、目を凛々と輝かせるのです。とにかく、ゴミ、もしくはゴミっぽいものはすべて彼女によって捨てられ、私の食後の食器から、絵本から、おもちゃから、ありとあらゆるものを、すべて片付ける能力から発達しつつあります。
まだ会話になるほど話すこともできないし、かんしゃく持ちだし。そんな2歳1ヶ月ですが、すでに親から「捨てる能力」「整理整頓能力」を受け継いでいるのには、少々怖さすら感じるのであります。
