今日は何の日
昨日は2月19日。娘がちょうど7ヶ月。もう7ヶ月も生きたんだ。すばらしい。
今日2月20日は妻の誕生日。何にも買ってあげていないし、帰ってきたのも寝た後だ。週末は娘を預けてゆっくりおいしいものを食べるということで許していただこう。明日は仕事飲みでおいしいジンギスカンを食べる予定。すまぬ、嫁。
2年前のブログを見ると、ふしみグリエで誕生日ディナーだったらしい。チーズフォンデュは特別おいしい記憶はないけれども。
で、その2年前の2月20日、日中は何をしていたかというと、白い立方体という名前の建物の会議室にいた。割と朝早い集合だったんじゃないだろうか。WEBOSS発起人の御三方（今の取締役3名ですね）と、私とEがそこにいた。あと、もちろんガラガラポンが得意のM田さん。会社を立ち上げるにあたり、おおざっくりな事業決まっており、後は社長を探さねば、という会議だったと記憶している。この会議で決定する予定だった社長本命候補様にはその場で断られた。
しかし、社長候補様が、別な社長候補様に電話連絡。スキー場で電話を受けたその候補者さんは、ちょっと迷惑そう。そりゃいきなりだし、当たり前だ。でも私達はランチを挟んで、その候補者さんを待っていました。夕方前にスキー場から駆けつけてくださった、その方こそ、今のY社長なのでした。
いきなり呼ばれて、よくわからない事業を説明され、さらにいきなりその会社の社長就任要請だ。数日の検討期間を経て、結果、ほんとに受諾するんだから、今思うと面白い。
ということで、嫁の誕生日でもあるけれども、大事な出会いの日でもあるのです。今日という日は。
